my last holiday

Last year, at the end of the year, my family decided to spend our holiday at Surabaya to visit my brother who lives there. Which located around 777 kilometers from Bandung. when we arrived in surabaya, we were surprised by how clean surabaya streets were. but the weather in surabaya was very hot compared to bandung. at the airport, there were lots of drivers who offered to take us but by force. In the end, we chose a taxi. when I arrived at my brother's house, I was very happy to meet my brother’s three cats who were very adorable. there are sapi, koongie, and also beby. after that, I immediately rested. 

Then the next morning we went for a morning walk with those cute cats before the weather got hot. after that, we visited Tunjungan Plaza Mall and also Pakuwon Mall. Honestly, the malls there were very big. We had dinner at Union. The foods at union were super duper good and tasty, and the place was also comfortable! while we ate, we were accompanied by live music. 

Then the next day we visited the Safari Park. The journey from Surabaya to the safari park is 66 km and takes around 2 hours. In most conventional zoos, the animals are put in cage, while Safari Park has the visitors in "cage". They aren't allowed to get off their vehicles because animals wander freely. Visitors who do not have car may make use of the exploring buses that has been provided by the park management. The animals actually don't wander freely to all over the zoo area, but they are just grouped into several different blocks. The first block is used for the wild carnivorous animals such as tigers and lions. The second block is used for big herbivorous animals such as elephants, rhinoceros, hippopotamuses, zebras, and giraffes. The third block is inhabited by primates like orang utans and gorillas. There are also many kinds of sheep and deer in it. There are bears, ostriches, and llamas in the last block. Each animal roams freely inside their own blocks.

The rest blocks are like in the conventional zoo that the animals are in cage, such as rare species of Indian white tigers, several kinds of monkeys, birds, and crocodiles. There are also some tame animals such as monkeys, bears, and baby tigers. The visitor can take pictures together with those animals.

This park also provides a playground. In this area, visitors are able to enjoy a circus show and buy some stuff from souvenir shop as memento. They are also able to enjoy wonderful small waterfall.

The hotel itself was very big. we fed giraffes with vegetables and even had a breakfast with them! we ate cakes for breakfast, the giraffe didnt like cakes so they didnt eat our foods. in the hotel, there were also meerkat, elephant, rhinos.

We were in surabaya only 10 days. then we went home for new year in bandung. honestly, i felt so sad because i have to be apart with those three adorable cats.
